The Best Disney World Resorts for Dining

Where to book dinner at Disney's resorts, and how to turn it into a whole evening

Some of the best meals at Walt Disney World aren't inside a park at all.

They're at the resorts.

Romantic dinners, character breakfasts, rooftop views, tiki drinks and some of the most interesting cooking on property, all without a theme park ticket.

And since Disney tightened resort access in 2026, a dining reservation has become the main way non-guests get to enjoy these resorts at all.

So choosing the right resort for dinner matters more than ever.

Here are the Disney resorts I think are worth building a meal, and an evening, around.

How Dinner at a Resort Works Now

Since June 2026, Disney has restricted resort parking, the Disney Springs-to-resort buses and the Transportation & Ticket Center walkway for people who aren't staying there.

A confirmed dining reservation is what gets you parking and access, so book ahead and have the confirmation handy when you arrive.

Then use it well. Get there early enough for a drink and a walk, and stay a little after.

Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

The Polynesian is a Deluxe resort on Seven Seas Lagoon, on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop.

Tropical, relaxed and, for me, the most fun dining resort on property.

Where to Eat

'Ohana is the big, family-style feast of the Polynesian, and a natural choice for celebrations.

Kona Café is the easygoing table-service option, casual and consistently good.

Wailulu Bar & Grill at Island Tower is the open-air, lagoon-side choice, and it takes reservations.

Capt. Cook's and Pineapple Lanai cover quick meals and the classic DOLE WHIP.

Before and After

Start at Tambu Lounge or Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. The Grotto turns adults-only later in the evening, and Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace has been closed for refurbishment since April 2026.

Finish by the lagoon.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

The Grand Floridian is the flagship Deluxe resort on the monorail loop, and Disney dining at its most refined.

Where to Eat

Narcoossee's is the waterfront seafood restaurant, with views across the lagoon toward Magic Kingdom.

Cítricos is the polished date-night room. It's also hosting the resort's brunch while Grand Floridian Café is closed.

1900 Park Fare is the character-dining room, whimsical and very family-friendly.

Victoria & Albert's is the special-occasion splurge, in a category of its own.

Grand Floridian Café has been closed for refurbishment since July 2026. Disney's reservation system points to a reopening in early November 2026, but check before you plan around it.

Before and After

Enchanted Rose is one of the most elegant lounges on property, and the lobby piano makes a lovely last stop.

The resort is in a long refurbishment through 2027, so expect some work areas.

Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Wilderness Lodge is a Deluxe resort on Bay Lake in the Magic Kingdom area, served by boat and bus.

It feels like a national park lodge, and the dining matches.

Where to Eat

Artist Point hosts Story Book Dining with Snow White, beautifully themed and more interesting than a typical character meal.

Whispering Canyon Café is the loud, playful skillet restaurant. Families love it. Quiet couples may not.

Geyser Point Bar & Grill is lakeside and open-air, one of my favorite casual spots on property when the weather is right.

Before and After

Territory Lounge for a cozy drink, then the lobby fireplace and a walk along the lake.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a Deluxe resort in the Animal Kingdom area, served by bus.

For adventurous eaters, this may be the best dining resort at Disney World.

Where to Eat

Jiko – The Cooking Place is the signature restaurant, with African-inspired cooking and a serious wine list.

Boma – Flavors of Africa is the buffet, and a great introduction for families who want to try a bit of everything.

Sanaa, over at Kidani Village, pairs African and Indian flavors with windows looking out onto the savanna.

Before and After

Victoria Falls Lounge above Boma, or Sanaa Lounge at Kidani, then time at the savanna overlooks.

Disney's Contemporary Resort

The Contemporary is a Deluxe resort on the monorail, within walking distance of Magic Kingdom.

Modern, a little retro and full of Magic Kingdom views.

Where to Eat

California Grill is the rooftop signature restaurant, one of Disney's classic special-occasion dinners, with views toward Magic Kingdom.

Steakhouse 71 is the stylish, approachable steakhouse on the ground floor.

Chef Mickey's is the bright, busy character buffet, ideal with kids.

Before and After

Outer Rim or Steakhouse 71 Lounge, and a few minutes watching the monorail glide through the Grand Canyon Concourse.

Disney's BoardWalk

The BoardWalk Inn is a Deluxe resort on Crescent Lake in the EPCOT area, connected by walkway and boat.

It's one of the most walkable dining areas on property.

Where to Eat

Flying Fish is the upscale seafood restaurant, and one of the best date-night rooms at Disney.

Trattoria al Forno is warm, family-friendly Italian.

The Cake Bake Shop is the sweet, extravagant, very pink option.

BoardWalk Deli handles grab-and-go.

Before and After

AbracadaBar or Belle Vue Lounge, a look at the brand-new Hurly-Burly, and a slow lap of Crescent Lake.

Disney's Riviera Resort

The Riviera is a Disney Vacation Club Deluxe Villa resort in the EPCOT area, on the Skyliner.

Where to Eat

Topolino's Terrace is the rooftop restaurant, with a character breakfast in the morning and a more grown-up, Riviera-inspired dinner at night.

Primo Piatto is the easy quick-service option.

Le Petit Café does coffee by day and wine and aperitifs by evening.

Before and After

A drink at Le Petit Café, then a Skyliner ride for the view.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

Coronado Springs is a Moderate resort in the Animal Kingdom area, served by bus.

It has quietly become one of the best dining resorts on property, and the Gran Destino Tower gives it a genuinely upscale feel.

Where to Eat

Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood is the rooftop restaurant at the top of Gran Destino, built for sharing plates and sunset views.

Three Bridges Bar & Grill sits on the water, relaxed and lounge-like.

Maya Grill is the resort's other table-service option.

Before and After

Dahlia Lounge, on the rooftop beside Toledo, is one of the best nightcap spots at Disney World.

Honorable Mentions

The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin, which are not Disney-owned, have a strong lineup of their own, including Todd English's bluezoo, Il Mulino, Kimonos and Bourbon Steak.

And at the Yacht Club and Beach Club, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Cape May Cafe and Beaches & Cream Soda Shop are all worth knowing.

Tiki Tim's Take

If you love tiki, it's the Polynesian. Dinner at 'Ohana or Kona Café, a drink at Tambu or the Grotto and the lagoon afterward is my ideal Disney evening.

If food is the whole point, Animal Kingdom Lodge is the one I'd send an adventurous eater to.

For a special occasion, it's the Grand Floridian or California Grill.

For a great night that doesn't feel stuffy, Coronado Springs is the sleeper pick.

Whichever you choose, the reservation is no longer just dinner. It's your ticket to the whole resort for the evening. Plan around it.
