Disney's Yacht Club Resort Guide

Steakhouse nights, cozy lounges, EPCOT walks and who this nautical resort suits best

Illustrated sunset view of Disney's Yacht Club Resort across the water.

Some resorts feel like quiet afternoons.

The Yacht Club feels like a sophisticated seaside evening.

Picture a classic New England yacht club on a lakefront, with brass, navy blue, polished wood and a lighthouse at the end of the dock. Then add a little Disney.

It's refined without being stuffy, and that's what I like about it.

This is Disney with a fresh breeze and a good glass of wine.

The Yacht Club is a resort you choose for the evenings: a steakhouse dinner, a nightcap in a cozy lounge and a walk around Crescent Lake afterwards.

It also happens to be a short stroll from EPCOT, which helps a lot.

Yacht Club at a Glance

The Yacht Club shares Crescent Lake, and the Stormalong Bay pool complex, with its sister resort, the Beach Club. The BoardWalk sits directly across the water.

  • Category: Deluxe resort
  • Area: EPCOT area (the Crescent Lake resorts)
  • Transportation: walk to EPCOT's International Gateway, Friendship boats to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, a walking path toward the Studios, and buses to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs
  • The vibe: nautical, polished and calm, built for long dinners and quiet drinks

Who It's Best For

Couples and Date-Night Travelers

The Yacht Club leans grown-up. Its dining and lounges are some of the best reasons to stay in the EPCOT area.

EPCOT and Festival Fans

You can walk into World Showcase, eat and drink your way around the lake, and walk home.

Families Who Still Want Stormalong Bay

Kids get the same sand-bottom pool as the Beach Club, while the lobby and restaurants feel a little more composed.

Travelers Who Want Calm, Not Chaos

It's social without being loud. There's no nightclub energy here.

Who May Prefer Another Resort

If you want a breezier, more casual beach-cottage feel, the Beach Club next door may suit you better. If you'd rather have street performers and late-night options outside your door, look at the BoardWalk Inn. If Magic Kingdom is the priority, the Grand Floridian gives you the same polish on the monorail.

The Vibe

The energy here is calm, connective and subtly polished.

Mornings feel bright and purposeful. Afternoons invite long conversations over coffee. Evenings unfold slowly, with wine, steak knives and waterfront views.

It's not loud and it's not chaotic. It feels restful, but there's always something going on.

The Beach Club is flip-flops. The Yacht Club is boat shoes.

Dining, Bars & Lounges

The Yacht Club's food leans into New England comfort and classic steakhouse dining. Everything here is built for lingering.

Signature Dining

Yachtsman Steakhouse is the resort's big dinner, with premium steaks, seafood and that classic "resort dinner night" feel. It reopened in late August 2026 after a refurbishment and is a natural choice for celebrations and date nights.

Table Service

Ale & Compass Restaurant serves coastal comfort food across breakfast, lunch and dinner in a cozy, nautical dining room. It's the easier, everyday table-service option.

Bars & Lounges

This is where the Yacht Club really earns its place on my list.

Ale & Compass Lounge sits right off the lobby, with cocktails, wine and light bites. It's the resort's social living room and an easy spot for a pre-dinner drink.

Crew's Cup Lounge is the snug, clubby bar next to Yachtsman. It reopened in May 2026 after its own refurbishment. It's my pick for a nightcap or a craft beer after dinner, and it has that rare "I'm just here to enjoy the moment" feeling.

Neither is tiki, not even a little. But they're both very good places to sit with a drink and let the evening slow down.

The pool bar at Stormalong Bay, Hurricane Hanna's, belongs to the Beach Club side but is a short walk away.

Visiting as a Local

The old routine of driving over and wandering in doesn't work anymore.

Since June 2026, Disney restricts resort access for people who aren't staying on property, including resort parking and some transportation links.

For a non-guest, the dining reservation is the plan.

Book Yachtsman Steakhouse or Ale & Compass Restaurant, and build the night around it. Arrive a little early for a drink in Ale & Compass Lounge, then finish at Crew's Cup.

After dinner, the walk along Crescent Lake toward the BoardWalk is one of the nicest strolls on property. On the right evening, EPCOT's fireworks light up the sky nearby. My fireworks without a park ticket guide has more on where to watch.

If you want the Yacht Club to feel like your home base rather than a dinner stop, book a stay.

Tiki Tim's Take

The Yacht Club makes the most sense when you care about how your evenings feel.

It's ideal for travelers who appreciate meals that feel intentional, like social energy without sensory overload, and would rather have a good cocktail and a conversation than a party.

Add walkable EPCOT access and one of the best pools at Walt Disney World, and it's an easy recommendation for couples and EPCOT-focused families.

It's not the loudest night on property. It's often the most memorable one.
