Disney Destiny Guide
Dining, lounges, shows, rooms and who this heroes-and-villains ship is best for

Disney Destiny is the newest expression of Disney Cruise Line's Wish-class idea, but it has a much sharper personality than simply being "another new Disney ship."
The theme is:
Heroes and Villains.
Disney built the ship around characters whose stories revolve around purpose, power, courage, temptation and destiny, pulling from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Disney Parks.
That gives the ship a darker, more dramatic identity than Disney Wish and a different kind of theatrical energy than Disney Treasure.
It also gives adults some genuinely interesting lounges.
So if your Disney taste leans toward:
- villains
- Marvel
- Hercules
- The Lion King
- Haunted Mansion
- darker Disney storytelling
Destiny deserves a closer look.
Disney Destiny at a Glance
Disney Destiny began sailing from Fort Lauderdale in November 2025 and initially launched with 4- and 5-night Bahamas and Caribbean cruises. Disney's current ship page now shows 3-, 4-, 5-, 6- and 7-night sailings from Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
That flexibility is one of Destiny's strengths.
Compared with Treasure, which is more firmly associated with 7-night Caribbean sailings, Destiny gives you more itinerary lengths to work with.
Who Is Disney Destiny Best For?
I would put Destiny high on the list for:
Disney Villains Fans
This is the obvious one.
The ship is built around a heroes-and-villains framework, and that identity shows up in its venues and entertainment.
Adults Who Want Strong Lounge Options
Destiny has several distinctive adult venues, including:
- De Vil's
- Cask & Cannon
- The Sanctum
- Haunted Mansion Parlor
Disney's current deck plans place all four aboard the ship.
Families Who Want New-Generation Disney
You still get:
- highly themed kids spaces
- Marvel dining
- AquaMouse
- Disney stage shows
- modern staterooms
South Florida Cruisers
Fort Lauderdale is a major homeport for Destiny, and Disney currently uses Port Everglades Terminal 4 for its Destiny sailings through late November 2027.
For many Florida travelers, that can be a very convenient alternative to Port Canaveral.
Who May Prefer Another Ship?
Destiny may be less ideal if you prefer:
- a classic Disney ship
- smaller scale
- fewer franchise-heavy venues
- Alaska
- Europe
- traditional nautical design
- a more overt tropical/adventure personality
If Treasure's Jungle Cruise and Caribbean-adventure identity speaks directly to you, Treasure may still be the stronger fit.
If you prefer fairytale Disney, Wish may feel more natural.
The Heroes-and-Villains Identity
The heroes-and-villains theme is not just marketing copy.
Disney built the ship around dramatic contrasts between characters who make courageous choices and characters driven by ambition or chaos. Disney says the concept pulls from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Disney Parks stories.
That identity shows up in:
- dining
- live entertainment
- lounges
- artwork
- character theming
This is probably the most theatrical personality of the three closely related Wish-class ships.
Disney Destiny Dining
Disney currently lists three main rotational dining experiences aboard Destiny:
- Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King
- Worlds of Marvel
- 1923
That is a strong lineup.
Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King
This is Destiny's major dining differentiator.
Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King is a first-of-its-kind musical dining experience built around Simba's journey.
Disney describes it as a live retelling using singers and musicians performing songs from The Lion King while guests dine.
This is not background music.
It is a full dining-and-entertainment concept.
For families who love The Lion King, this may be one of Destiny's biggest selling points.
Worlds of Marvel
Destiny also features Worlds of Marvel.
Disney's current Destiny materials highlight a Baby Groot and Rocket-driven experience built around Marvel heroes and music.
Like Wish and Treasure, this is another example of Disney reusing the same broad restaurant concept while changing the entertainment details.
That makes ship-to-ship comparison more interesting than simply asking whether both have Worlds of Marvel.
1923
1923 remains the more understated rotational option.
Disney describes Destiny's version as inspired by classic animation heroes and villains, with artwork, props and storyboards woven into the dining room.
If Pride Lands and Marvel are the show-heavy nights, 1923 is where the experience becomes more traditional.
Marceline Market
Destiny includes Marceline Market for breakfast and lunch.
It remains one of the ship's practical everyday food venues. Disney currently lists it across Wish, Treasure and Destiny.
Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods
The ship also includes Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods for quick-service dining.
Disney currently lists it across Wish, Treasure and Destiny.
This is exactly the kind of option you'll appreciate when you do not want lunch to become a project.
Edna À La Mode Sweets
Destiny gets its own specialty sweets venue:
Edna À La Mode Sweets.
Disney currently lists it as a Destiny-specific dining venue.
The theme is tied to The Incredibles and Edna Mode.
Necessary?
No.
Will people still buy things there?
Obviously.
Adult Dining
Destiny also shares the premium adult dining lineup of its sister ships:
Palo Steakhouse
Italian-influenced dining and steaks.
Enchanté
French fine dining by chef Arnaud Lallement.
Disney currently lists both aboard Destiny.
On the longer Destiny sailings, these become much easier to work into the trip without sacrificing too much rotational dining.
De Vil's
Now we're talking.
De Vil's is a Cruella-inspired piano lounge.
Disney currently lists it as exclusive to Disney Destiny.
The concept leans into:
- glamor
- dramatic interiors
- piano lounge energy
- 101 Dalmatians theming
This feels less like a children's character space and more like an adult bar that happens to be unmistakably Disney.
That is exactly the kind of balance I want from a Disney cruise lounge.
Cask & Cannon
Cask & Cannon is another Destiny-specific lounge.
Disney lists it aboard Destiny as an adult venue, and its name immediately signals a more pub-like, nautical direction.
For adults who want something less polished than De Vil's and more relaxed than premium cocktail spaces, this may become one of the easier nightly stops.
The Sanctum
The Sanctum brings Doctor Strange into the lounge lineup.
Disney's current deck plans place it on Deck 3 alongside De Vil's and Haunted Mansion Parlor.
This gives Destiny one of the most unusual adult-space lineups in the Disney fleet.
Villain piano lounge.
Marvel mysticism.
Haunted Mansion.
Pirate-ish pub energy.
Disney clearly decided subtlety was optional.
I respect the commitment.
Haunted Mansion Parlor
Destiny also includes Haunted Mansion Parlor.
That means Treasure is not the only ship where you can have a cocktail surrounded by supernatural Disney Parks storytelling.
Disney's current Destiny deck plans include Haunted Mansion Parlor among the Deck 3 venues.
For Disney Parks fans, that gives Destiny another major point in its favor.
Disney Hercules
This is probably Destiny's most important entertainment differentiator.
Disney Hercules is a dedicated stage production aboard the ship.
Disney currently lists it specifically for Disney Destiny.
That makes sense thematically.
Heroism.
Destiny.
Greek mythology.
Villains.
Hades.
The entire ship concept basically invited Hercules to show up.
Disney Seas the Adventure
Destiny also features Disney Seas the Adventure, which appears across Wish, Treasure, Destiny and Adventure.
That gives the ship a broader ensemble Disney show alongside the more Destiny-specific Hercules production.
The Grand Hall
Like its sister ships, Destiny uses the Grand Hall as a major central gathering space.
Expect it to function as:
- visual centerpiece
- character area
- entertainment zone
- circulation hub
The hero/villain aesthetic gives it a different mood from Wish and Treasure even when the architectural bones are related.
AquaMouse
Destiny includes AquaMouse as part of the newer Disney ship experience.
Unlike Treasure, it uses its own villain-themed Sing a Silly Song storyline instead.
That gives Mickey and Minnie a villain-themed water ride that fits Destiny's broader hero/villain identity.
Kids Clubs
Destiny includes Disney's newer-generation Oceaneer Club approach.
Current deck plans confirm Disney's Oceaneer Club and "it's a small world" nursery onboard.
You can expect deeply themed environments, Disney franchises and organized programming for different age groups.
Tweens and teens also get dedicated spaces such as Edge.
Adults-Only Areas
Destiny may be one of the strongest ships in the Disney fleet for adults who still want Disney.
The lineup includes:
- De Vil's
- Cask & Cannon
- The Sanctum
- Haunted Mansion Parlor
- Cove Café
- adult dining
- Quiet Cove
- Senses Spa
Disney's current lounge listings confirm Destiny's distinct adult-venue mix.
This is not an adults-only ship.
But there is a lot more adult personality here than the phrase "Disney cruise" might suggest.
Staterooms
Destiny offers the expected major accommodation categories:
- Inside
- Oceanview
- Verandah
- Concierge
Disney's current deck plans list all four categories across the ship.
As always, choose based on:
- budget
- party size
- sleeping needs
- how much time you'll spend in the room
- whether private outdoor space is important
Not prestige.
Do You Need a Verandah on Disney Destiny?
It depends on the itinerary length.
On a 3- or 4-night sailing, you may barely use it.
On a 6- or 7-night cruise?
The value becomes easier to justify.
More sea time generally means more opportunities for:
- morning coffee outside
- quiet afternoon time
- private sunset views
Still optional.
Still lovely.
Concierge on Disney Destiny
Destiny also offers Concierge staterooms and suites.
Disney's current deck plans include multiple Concierge categories, including one-bedroom suites with verandahs.
This can make sense for travelers who value:
- premium service
- exclusive areas
- larger accommodations
- Concierge booking support
But it is a significant price jump.
Compare the total value, not the label.
Disney Destiny Itineraries
Destiny launched with 4- and 5-night Bahamas and Caribbean sailings from Fort Lauderdale, including Disney island stops. Some itineraries include Castaway Cay, Lookout Cay or both.
Disney's current ship page now advertises a broader mix of 3-, 4-, 5-, 6- and 7-night cruises from Fort Lauderdale and Port Canaveral to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
That gives Destiny much more itinerary flexibility than it had at launch.
Fort Lauderdale Matters
For South Florida travelers, Port Everglades is a major advantage.
Disney currently uses Cruise Terminal 4 for Destiny sailings through late November 2027.
For Central Florida travelers, Port Canaveral is often easier.
But Fort Lauderdale opens up a different set of sailing combinations and may be especially convenient for travelers coming from South Florida or flying into FLL.
Disney Destiny vs Disney Wish
Choose Wish if:
- you prefer fairytale Disney
- Frozen matters
- Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge matters
- short Port Canaveral Bahamas cruises are your priority
Choose Destiny if:
- villains appeal more
- Hercules matters
- The Lion King dining matters
- Haunted Mansion appeals
- Fort Lauderdale is convenient
- you want a darker, more dramatic ship identity
Disney Destiny vs Disney Treasure
This is a much more interesting comparison.
Treasure
Feels like:
adventure Disney
Jungle Cruise.
Moana.
Coco.
Caribbean exploration.
Destiny
Feels like:
dramatic Disney
Heroes.
Villains.
Hercules.
Cruella.
Marvel.
Haunted Mansion.
If both itineraries work, this may come down almost entirely to personality.
That is not a bad problem to have.
What I Like About Disney Destiny
The theme is distinctive
Heroes and villains gives the ship a real identity.
The lounge lineup
De Vil's, The Sanctum, Cask & Cannon and Haunted Mansion Parlor are genuinely interesting concepts.
Pride Lands
The Lion King dining experience gives Destiny something no other Disney ship currently has.
Hercules
A ship-exclusive major stage production matters.
Itinerary flexibility
Short Bahamas trips and longer Western Caribbean options make the ship easier to fit into different vacation lengths.
What I Would Think About Carefully
It is still a Wish-class layout
If you dislike the fundamental layout of Wish or Treasure, Destiny doesn't solve that.
It is intensely themed
The heroes-and-villains concept is not subtle.
Short cruises may still feel rushed
There is a lot of ship to experience.
Three nights will go quickly.
Is Disney Destiny Good for Adults?
Yes.
Potentially very good.
The lounge mix gives adults more variety than many people expect from Disney.
A couple could move between:
- De Vil's
- The Sanctum
- Haunted Mansion Parlor
- Cask & Cannon
- premium dining
- Quiet Cove
and build an adult-focused evening without leaving the Disney environment.
That is a real strength.
Is Disney Destiny Good for First-Time Cruisers?
Yes.
Especially if:
- Fort Lauderdale is convenient
- you love Disney villains
- you want a modern ship
- you want a Bahamas or Caribbean trip
- you have kids who will use Disney's youth programming
For complete cruise newcomers, I would still compare 4- and 5-night options before defaulting to the shortest sailing.
Enough time to learn the ship matters.
The Tiki Tim Take
Disney Destiny is probably the most dramatic ship in the current fleet.
Treasure is adventure.
Wish is fairytale.
Destiny is conflict.
Heroes.
Villains.
Dark lounges.
Big characters.
The Lion King.
Hercules.
Haunted Mansion.
It has personality.
And personality is exactly what keeps closely related ships from becoming interchangeable.
Should You Sail Disney Destiny?
Choose Destiny if you want:
- heroes and villains
- The Lion King dining
- Disney Hercules
- a strong adult lounge lineup
- newer-generation Disney
- Bahamas or Caribbean itineraries
- Fort Lauderdale options
Consider another ship if you want:
- smaller scale
- classic Disney Cruise Line design
- Alaska
- Europe
- a tropical/adventure identity instead of villains
Disney Destiny is not simply the third version of Disney Wish.
It takes the same basic ship family and gives it a very different attitude.
And attitude counts.
