Disney's Pop Century Resort Guide
Decade-themed fun, Skyliner access, easy food court dining and who this Value resort suits

Some Disney resorts are about luxury.
Pop Century is about fun.
Oversized icons, bold colors and a trip through the decades of the 20th century, one building at a time. It is part nostalgia, part pop-culture time capsule and all good mood.
It doesn't pretend to be fancy. It doesn't need to.
It is a Value resort with one big advantage: the Disney Skyliner, right on property.
This is Disney that remembers who you were. For families, first-timers and anyone who wants a clean, cheerful base for park days, it is one of the smartest picks at Walt Disney World.
Pop Century at a Glance
Pop Century sits on Hourglass Lake, across the water from Art of Animation, and the two resorts share a Skyliner station. Rooms are standard Value rooms in large, decade-themed buildings.
- Category: Value
- Area: EPCOT area (on the Skyliner line)
- Transportation: Disney Skyliner (to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios), plus buses
- The vibe: bright, upbeat and refreshingly simple
Who It's Best For
Budget-Minded Families
It is one of the most affordable ways to stay on Disney property and still get genuinely useful transportation.
Park-First Travelers
If the hotel is mainly where you sleep, shower and head out again, Pop Century does that job very well.
First-Time Disney Visitors
You get the full on-property experience, Skyliner and all, without committing to a big room budget on your first trip.
Nostalgia Lovers
If giant yo-yos and oversized throwback icons make you grin, you will have fun just walking to your room.
Who May Prefer Another Resort
If your group needs more space, Art of Animation has family suites right across the lake. If you want a sit-down dinner and a pool bar with more atmosphere, step up to Caribbean Beach. If evenings matter as much as park days, Coronado Springs has a much bigger lounge scene.
The Vibe
The energy here is bright, upbeat and effortlessly fun.
Mornings feel optimistic and open. Afternoons hum with color and motion around the pools. Evenings glow with reflections across Hourglass Lake.
Nothing feels heavy, and nothing feels complicated. It is the kind of place that lifts your mood before you realize it needed lifting.
Each section leans into its decades, from the '50s and '60s through the '90s, with giant icons and playful touches you will spot on the way to your room. It is like walking through a scrapbook of American pop culture.
The walking path around Hourglass Lake is one of the nicest surprises here, connecting Pop Century with Art of Animation. Early in the morning or after dark, it is a calm loop with views back across the water.
This is Disney for people who like life to feel light.
Dining, Bars & Lounges
Pop Century's dining is built for ease and variety. There is no table-service restaurant, so this is a grab-a-meal-and-go kind of resort.
Casual & Quick Service
Everything POP Shopping & Dining is the resort's food court and the heartbeat of the place. Breakfast that starts the day gently, easy dinners after a long park day, and a bakery case that rotates treats through the year.
Bars & Lounges
Petals Pool Bar sits by the Hippy Dippy Pool. Open-air, relaxed and full of warm-weather energy. It is the closest Pop Century gets to a tiki moment, and on a hot afternoon, a cold drink here feels like permission to slow down.
My advice: treat Petals as an afternoon reset, not a night out. Swim, grab a drink, rest your feet, then head back out on the Skyliner feeling human again.
That's the bar scene in full. For a proper lounge night, see my guide to the best Disney resort lounges.
Visiting as a Local
Pop Century is a resort you stay at, not one you drop in on.
Since June 2026, Disney has restricted resort access for people who aren't staying on property, including resort parking. There is no table-service restaurant here, so there isn't a dining reservation that gets you through the gate.
That is just the honest reality of a resort built around a food court and a pool bar.
For locals, the realistic options are a budget-friendly staycation, or an evening built around a dinner reservation at a nearby Skyliner resort such as Caribbean Beach or Riviera.
If fireworks are part of the plan, my fireworks without a park ticket guide covers better options than a Value resort walkway.
Tiki Tim's Take
Pop Century makes the most sense when you want to spend your money in the parks, not on the room.
The Skyliner is the game changer. EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are easy, and that makes this one of the best values on Disney property.
It also gives you options. Art of Animation is a short walk across the lake, and the Skyliner can carry you to Caribbean Beach or Riviera on a night when you want a sit-down dinner.
The rooms are simple and the dining is all quick service, so don't expect a resort that feels like a destination of its own.
But if you want a cheerful, convenient home base with a bit of nostalgia mixed in, it is very hard to beat.
It's not about luxury. It's about ease.
