GOTIKI Halloween Monorail Crawl 2026: The Complete Disney World Guide
A little tiki, a little Halloween, and a whole lot of Disney magic. Here's your complete guide to GOTIKI's 2026 Halloween Monorail Crawl.

Three Disney resorts. Eight hours. One seriously spirited tiki adventure.
There's something wonderfully ridiculous about hopping aboard the Walt Disney World Monorail in a Halloween costume, meeting a bunch of tiki enthusiasts, and spending an afternoon exploring tropical cocktails and Disney resort lounges.
And I mean ridiculous in the best possible way.
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Greater Orlando Tiki Society (GOTIKI) returns for its seventh annual Halloween Monorail Crawl.
This free event combines tiki culture, Halloween costumes, Disney resort hopping, and an opportunity to meet people who appreciate a good tropical escape.
The best part? You don't need a Disney World theme park ticket to attend.
I'm Tim from Tiki Tim Adventures, and this event brings together several of my favorite things: living in the Disney Bubble, discovering tropical hideaways, and finding reasons to wear another Hawaiian shirt.
Here's everything you need to know.

What exactly is GOTIKI?
GOTIKI stands for Greater Orlando Tiki Society, a community of people who share an appreciation for tiki culture, tropical drinks, retro-inspired environments, and the sort of escapism that makes an ordinary evening feel like a vacation.
Its annual Halloween Monorail Crawl brings that community into the Disney Bubble.
Instead of gathering at one cocktail bar, attendees make their way through three of Walt Disney World's iconic monorail resorts:
- Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney's Contemporary Resort
The evening begins and ends at the Polynesian.
It's important to understand that this is a social gathering rather than a guided tasting tour. There isn't a required drink purchase, and you don't have to visit every bar.
You're free to explore the resort lounges, meet fellow participants, and join whichever stops interest you most.
That flexibility is part of the appeal.
The complete GOTIKI 2026 Monorail Crawl itinerary
3:00–5:00 PM: Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
There's really only one appropriate place to begin an Orlando tiki adventure.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
With its tropical landscaping, South Pacific-inspired atmosphere, and views across Seven Seas Lagoon, the Polynesian is already one of Walt Disney World's great escapes.
Add Halloween costumes and dozens of tiki fans, and you have the makings of a memorable afternoon.
The three featured venues are Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, Tambu Lounge, and Wailulu Bar & Grill.
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto
If you're a Disney fan who loves tiki culture, Trader Sam's probably needs little introduction.
Hidden inside the Polynesian's Great Ceremonial House, this immersive cocktail lounge is equal parts tiki bar and interactive Disney attraction.
The rooms are packed with themed artifacts, playful references, elaborate drinks, and effects triggered by certain cocktail orders.
Signature offerings include the HippopotoMai-Tai and the famous Nautilus cocktail.
Trader Sam's is also known for collectible souvenir mugs, which have developed their own following among Disney and tiki collectors.
Tiki Tim's tip: Don't build your entire crawl around getting inside Trader Sam's. It's a small and extremely popular lounge, and waits can be substantial. Check its seating process early, but have an alternative plan.
Disney allows guests of all ages before 8 PM. After 8 PM, the lounge becomes restricted to guests 21 and older.

Tambu Lounge
Located upstairs near 'Ohana, Tambu Lounge offers a more casual setting for tropical drinks and conversation.
For a group event like GOTIKI, that's particularly useful.
You can enjoy the Polynesian atmosphere without committing to an extended wait for Trader Sam's.
Tambu also makes an easy gathering spot before the annual group photo.
Wailulu Bar & Grill
One of the Polynesian's newer dining destinations, Wailulu Bar & Grill sits at the Island Tower overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon.
Its atmosphere is more contemporary than Trader Sam's, with open views, tropical-inspired food and beverages, and a setting that feels particularly inviting around sunset.
If you're considering eating a substantial meal early in the evening, this is one of the options worth investigating.
Check seating availability and access requirements before visiting.
4:45 PM: The official GOTIKI group photo
At approximately 4:45 PM, attendees are invited to gather in the Polynesian's Great Ceremonial House for the annual group photograph.
Make an effort to be there.
This is one of the few scheduled moments when everyone comes together, making it a particularly good opportunity to meet fellow tiki enthusiasts.
Your event hosts, Jay and Kathy McGuire, will be at the Polynesian beginning at 3 PM.
If you're new to GOTIKI, introducing yourself to the hosts is an easy way to get connected with the group.
5:00–7:00 PM: Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
From the Polynesian, the crawl moves to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
The transition is part of the fun.
You're leaving behind tiki torches, tropical drinks, and Polynesian-inspired architecture for Victorian elegance and one of Disney World's most recognizable luxury hotels.
The Grand Floridian segment includes three suggested stops.
Enchanted Rose
Inspired by Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Enchanted Rose provides an elegant setting for cocktails and conversation.
No, it's not a traditional tiki bar.
But the contrast between destinations is exactly what makes the monorail crawl interesting.
One stop feels like a tropical expedition. The next feels like you've stepped into an enchanted castle.
The Perch
The Perch appears on GOTIKI's published itinerary as another Grand Floridian gathering location.
Check its current access arrangements with a Cast Member on arrival, since hotel amenities and lounge service may vary during resort work.
Beaches Pool Bar & Grill
Beaches Pool Bar & Grill offers a more relaxed outdoor atmosphere near the resort's beach pool.
Keep in mind that Disney may restrict pool-area access and that the bar's hours may not match the overall crawl schedule.
Tiki Tim's tip: Pick one primary Grand Floridian lounge rather than attempting to visit every location in the two-hour window. Save time for exploring the resort and talking with people.
7:00–9:00 PM: Disney's Contemporary Resort
Next, the crawl moves to Disney's Contemporary Resort.
This is where a tiki-themed outing becomes a little Disney history tour, too.
The Contemporary opened alongside Magic Kingdom in 1971, and its dramatic A-frame architecture remains one of the most distinctive sights on Disney property.
Having the monorail glide straight through the building is still pretty remarkable.
Two lounges are featured in the GOTIKI itinerary.
Outer Rim
Outer Rim overlooks Bay Lake and provides a comparatively relaxed atmosphere for a cocktail and conversation.
After a few hours of walking and resort hopping, this could be an ideal spot to catch up with other attendees.
Steakhouse 71 Lounge
Steakhouse 71 celebrates Walt Disney World's opening year through retro-inspired design and historical touches.
For someone who appreciates classic Disney, the lounge offers more than just another place to order a drink.
It's a chance to experience a bit of the resort's history in a comfortable setting.
Tiki Tim's tip: Consider this your dinner-and-reset stop. With several hours still ahead, it's a smart time to get food, drink water, and recharge.
9:00–11:00 PM: Return to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
The crawl returns to the Polynesian for the final two hours.
Suggested venues are once again Tambu Lounge, Trader Sam's Grog Grotto, and Wailulu Bar & Grill.
There's something fitting about returning to the same tropical surroundings where the adventure began.
By this point, you'll have made your way around Seven Seas Lagoon, explored three distinctive resorts, and hopefully met several people who share your enthusiasm for tiki.
The scheduled event ends at 11 PM, although individual restaurant and bar hours can differ.
And remember that Trader Sam's is restricted to guests 21 and older after 8 PM.
Do you need a Disney World park ticket?
No. That's one of the best things about this event.
The crawl takes place entirely at Disney resort hotels, outside the theme park admission gates.
You don't need a Magic Kingdom ticket, Lightning Lane Pass, or theme park reservation to attend the gathering.
Individual resorts and venues can still impose access, capacity, or dining restrictions, so admission to a particular lounge is never guaranteed.
Parking and transportation: What you need to know
This is where planning ahead can save considerable frustration.
Don't assume you can park at the Polynesian
The organizers specifically advise against relying on parking at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
Disney resort parking may be restricted to registered overnight guests and visitors with confirmed eligible dining reservations.
Instead, the organizers recommend using the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).
From the TTC, you can use the Resort Monorail or the walking path to reach the Polynesian.
Parking charges may apply at the TTC, so check Disney's current parking policies.
Using the Disney Resort Monorail
The Resort Monorail connects the following stops:
- Transportation and Ticket Center
- Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Magic Kingdom
- Disney's Contemporary Resort
Remember that the monorail follows a fixed loop rather than operating as a direct shuttle between whichever two resorts you're visiting.
Allow time for intermediate stops and potential delays.
Disney's published hours also depend on Magic Kingdom operations, so verify the last operating time before relying on the monorail for your return.
Disney's official monorail transportation information
Can you walk between resorts?
The Polynesian and Grand Floridian are connected by a pedestrian walkway.
That can be an attractive alternative for guests who prefer a stroll along Seven Seas Lagoon.
Other resort-to-resort transfers may be less practical on foot, especially at night. Follow posted paths and transportation guidance rather than improvising shortcuts.
My transportation recommendation
If you're planning to enjoy alcoholic drinks, consider ride-share or a designated driver.
Eight hours of resort hopping is plenty of time for a memorable evening without having to worry about driving afterward.
What should you wear to GOTIKI?
Halloween costumes are encouraged, but not required.
My preference? Something that combines classic tiki style with a little Halloween personality.
Think Hawaiian shirts, vintage tropical prints, spooky accessories, and playful island-inspired outfits.
Whatever you choose, prioritize comfort.
You'll be walking, standing, traveling between resorts, and potentially spending time outdoors in Florida's October weather.
Costumes and accessories must also comply with Disney's property rules.
How much should you budget?
Admission to the crawl is free.
Food and drinks, however, are purchased individually.
For planning purposes, here's an illustrative budget:
| Item | Estimated cost |
|---|---|
| Two cocktails | $36–$50 |
| Dinner or substantial snack | $20–$35 |
| Tax and tips | $12–$22 |
| Total | $68–$107 |
These are planning estimates, not verified prices for October 10. Souvenir mugs, additional drinks, and transportation may increase your total.
You can also attend without ordering alcohol.
The social atmosphere and resort experience are a big part of what makes GOTIKI worthwhile.
Seven tips for enjoying your first GOTIKI crawl
1. Arrive early. The event starts at 3 PM, and the first 150 attendees can receive a commemorative lanyard.
2. Don't obsess over Trader Sam's. It's an amazing destination, but there's much more to experience than one crowded lounge.
3. Make the group photo. Be back at the Polynesian lobby by approximately 4:45 PM.
4. Eat something substantial. With an eight-hour event, food and hydration should be part of your plan.
5. Build in transportation time. Moving between resorts isn't instantaneous, particularly when crowds are heavy.
6. Meet the tiki community. Introduce yourself, ask about people's favorite drinks, and learn about other Central Florida tiki events.
7. Enjoy the experience, not a checklist. You don't need a cocktail in every lounge. Sometimes the best part of an evening is the conversation you didn't plan.
Why GOTIKI belongs on my Central Florida adventure list
One of the things I love most about living in Central Florida is that vacation experiences don't have to be reserved for vacations.
For people who live in the Disney Bubble, an ordinary Saturday can involve visiting a beautifully themed resort, discovering a cocktail lounge, watching the sunset over Seven Seas Lagoon, or meeting people who share an unusual passion.
That's precisely what appeals to me about GOTIKI.
Tiki culture combines design, hospitality, music, nostalgia, storytelling, and the idea of escaping the ordinary.
Disney does many of those same things.
Put them together, add Halloween costumes and a monorail, and you've created something genuinely distinctive.
And that's exactly the kind of adventure I want to share through Tiki Tim Adventures.

Continue exploring Central Florida's tiki scene
The GOTIKI Halloween Monorail Crawl is just one example of the tropical experiences waiting around Orlando.
From classic tiki lounges to immersive Disney bars, vintage-inspired gatherings, and independent cocktail destinations, there's an entire side of Central Florida that visitors and locals can explore.
I'm building a growing collection of these experiences at Tiki Tim Adventures, including my Orlando Tiki Bars & Experiences Guide.
And after the 2026 crawl, I'll be adding firsthand observations, original photographs, and lessons for anyone considering a future event.
Because living near the magic isn't just about visiting theme parks.
It's about discovering ways to make an ordinary weekend feel like a vacation.
